A perfect balance between materiality and lightness defines the design of this private residence: a modern loft where metal takes center stage. The collaboration with Atelier Castagna has led to the creation of visually impactful design elements, with tailor-made solutions that enhance the dialogue between architecture and interior design.
A staircase as the centerpiece of the space
As the focal point of the project, the staircase becomes a sculptural presence, blending functionality with custom craftsmanship. Entirely made of laser-cut steel sheets, its tread and riser feature bespoke engravings, transforming the surface into a refined interplay of textures. The solid steel plate railing, with its monolithic solidity, emphasizes the industrial character of the space, creating a defined volume with a strong visual impact. The dark steel calamine finish, sealed with a transparent protective coating, enhances the material depth of the metal, lending it an elegant aged effect.
Bespoke coffee tables: a dialogue between lightness and materiality
Complementing the project, two custom coffee tables echo the aesthetic language of the staircase, creating a harmonious dialogue between the furnishings. Their structure, crafted through steel calendering in the same dark steel finish, supports a smoked glass top with a water-effect texture, capable of reflecting light and amplifying the sense of lightness. The contrast between the strength of metal and the transparency of glass creates a sense of balance and refinement, emphasizing the attention to detail and the artisanal craftsmanship behind the design.
